About Seren Energy

Seren Energy is a small team of renewable energy professionals based in Swansea. All staff are committed to the environmental agenda and it is this issue that motivates our work.

We are involved at all stages of renewable energy developments, acting as consultants and planning agents at the initial stages, and project managers and installers during construction phase.

Seren Energy are committed to carrying out our business with a sense of responsibility, and will continue to develop successful renewable energy schemes in order to combat the negative effects of global warming and help meet government targets.

We were established in 2003 and are members of RenewableUK.

The Team

Gareth Tucker

Director & Co-founder

Gareth is a chartered Mechanical Engineer with over twelve years experience in the renewable energy industry. He has an MSc from Loughborough University specialising in Renewable Energy Systems Technology. Gareth began his career at British Energy, and after his MSc started work with an energy consultancy company where he was involved with a wide variety of renewable energy schemes and ran their wind energy department. He has been with Seren’s renewable energy team since its instigation, and oversees the technical side of the companies work.

Steve Hack

Director & Co-founder

Steve has a degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Bath and an MBA from the same University. He has worked for most of his life in businesses with sustainability as the main driver, ranging from energy controls to ethical trading. He is currently on the board of Friends of the Earth and Carmarthenshire Energy as well as being actively involved in the community energy agenda.

Oliver Buxton

Project Manager

Oliver graduated from Swansea University in 2008 with a Mathematics degree with first class honours, and has an MSc in Renewable Energy and the Built Environment from the University of East London. He works on all aspects of planning applications and was instrumental in setting up the GIS process used for prospecting potential sites.

Oliver deals with the wide range of software used in wind turbine projects, and has worked on all stages of wind turbine development including site selection, planning applications and project management.
