05 Aug 2008, Two 800kW turbines planning approved:
“Seren Energy have been successful in their
planning application to Pembrokeshire County Council to install two 800kW wind
turbines, each of up to 50m hub height, near Narberth in South West Wales.
The site is a managed forest, crossed by 2 public footpaths, one of which forms
part of the Knight’s way, an ancient path from Amroth to Canaston wood.
This scheme has taken over 2 years to get to the approval stage.
Bob Williams, owner of the site and whose family are from the Swansea area,
said, “I am very excited about this development and it ensures the future of the
plantation.”
Gareth Tucker, Director of Seren Energy said, “This permission was necessary as
we were unable to source turbines which met the conditions of the earlier gained
permission . A positive outcome of this is that the noise profile of these
turbines is less, meaning that nearby residential properties will experience
lower noise levels .”

11 Sept 2007, Shipping Hill Plantation Planning approved:
“Seren Energy have been successful in their
planning application to Pembrokeshire County Council to install two wind
turbines, each of up to 40m hub height, near Narberth in South West Wales.
Gareth Tucker, Director of Seren Energy said, “Issues such as noise and access
were not found to be a problem by planners – the nearest property is over 500
metres away and the site access is routinely used by large forestry vehicles
during tree harvesting – so this is a very good site.”
